ready, set, date sample

scripts used in development process

After building my game, I had a few items I put on hold:
- puddle initially paired with fall down animation
- jump animation had a glitching issue

- umbrella collectible + rain didn;t manage to complete (initially players collect umbrella, incase of rain and if caught in rain without umbrella game over)
- charm meter as I had issues with the code

REFLECTION

This project which is about Danny's eventful first date, welcomed me with a set of challenges and learning opportunities. As someone who hates coding, it wasn't easy – figuring out the right balance of challenge and fun, and getting the code to behave the way I wanted it to, definitely had its moments of frustration. But looking back, I'm proud of what I've accomplished.

I learned so much about game design, like how to create a compelling narrative and craft engaging gameplay mechanics. The coding challenges pushed me to learn new programming concepts, like object-oriented programming and how to work with game physics. I also gained a deeper appreciation for the work that goes into creating and managing game assets.

Project management became a real test, teaching me the importance of time management, prioritization, and breaking down large tasks into smaller, more manageable steps. Time constraints unfortunately prevented me from fully utilizing all the planned features, I had planned for in my proposal. It was a reminder that game development is a process made up of many small parts.

Overall, this project was a valuable journey. It challenged me, taught me new skills, and gave me a deeper understanding of the intricacies of game development. I'm excited to apply these lessons to future projects.
